Stephen A. Maisto received his Ph.D. in experimental psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1975 and completed a postdoctoral respecialization in clinical psychology at George Peabody College of Vanderbilt University in 1985. Dr. Maisto received his Diplomate in Clinical Psychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology in 2000. He is a licensed psychologist in New York and Rhode Island. Dr. Maisto's clinical and research interests are in the assessment and treatment of alcohol and other drug use disorders, HIV prevention and intervention, and the integration behavioral healthcare in the primary care setting. Currently Dr. Maisto is a Professor of psychology at Syracuse University and is Executive Director of the VA Center for Integrated Healthcare.
